Tyler State Park
Park lovers consider Tyler State Park a tranquil haven in the pines, featuring a cool, 64-acre spring-fed lake, 100-foot-tall trees, and historic structures. Visitors spend the day playing at the lake, wetting a hook, wandering through the woods, or relaxing with their binoculars at this peaceful Northeast Texas getaway.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Tyler State Park’s centennial wish.
Tyler State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Enjoying the Colors of Nature
Each fall, the trails and roadways of Tyler State Park become awash with color. Maples turns a rusty red, and trees like oaks and cottonwoods fill out the landscape with reds and yellows. But some visitors can’t see this vibrant landscape because they are colorblind.
There is new lens technology available that allows people with color blindness to see the full color spectrum. With your support, the park will provide this technology through scopes with a special lens package that will give colorblind visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature as never before.
These scopes will seamlessly serve visitors with and without visual impairments, enabling all to enjoy spectacular fall foliage.
Fundraising goal: $8,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Tyler State Park for future funding needs.
