Stephen F. Austin State Park
Mexico granted this land to Stephen F. Austin, the “Father of Texas,” and it was the birthplace of Anglo-American settlement in Texas. Today visitors young and old visit the 473 acres of scenic moss-draped hardwood forests and cottonwood bottomlands to enjoy both history and nature on the banks of the Brazos River.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Stephen F. Austin State Park’s centennial wish.
Stephen F. Austin State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Hit the (Improved) Trails
One of Stephen F. Austin State Park’s greatest attractions and most popular recreation activities is hiking on the park’s beautiful trails.
Because the trails are so popular, heavy use, as well as recent flooding, has taken a toll on many of the trails.
With your support, park staff will refresh the trail system by upgrading and resurfacing all of the lower trails at this beloved park.
Fundraising goal: $20,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Stephen F. Austin State Park for future funding needs.
