Palo Duro Canyon State Park

The second largest canyon in the country, the “Grand Canyon of Texas,” lies in the heart of the Panhandle. Visitors from all over the world come here to experience the canyon’s rugged beauty and explore it by foot, mountain bike, horse or car. During the summer, park goers come to watch the TEXAS Outdoor Musical.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Palo Duro Canyon State Park’s centennial wish.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Specialized Gear To the Rescue of Bikers & More

Mountain biking is a popular activity at Palo Duro Canyon, and with more than 50 miles of rugged trail, maintenance issues happen. Bikers would benefit from bike repair stations that include common repair tools, a pump for tires, and a rack to hold a bike for easy repairs.

Mountain biking (and other) accidents happen, too, and park rangers are often called upon for search and rescue operations throughout the park. The searches can occur in areas that require high-angle rescue gear. Park staff say additional specialized equipment and gear will greatly improve their search and rescue capabilities and potentially save lives.

With your support, bike repair stations will be added to the park, and search and rescue operations will be better equipped for the safety of all visitors.

Fundraising goal: $9,000
