Palmetto State Park

Visitors adore this little piece of the tropics located just an hour from Austin and San Antonio. With multiple sources of water including the San Marcos River, Palmetto State Park is a haven for wildlife and plants. You can even find dwarf palmettos, the park’s namesake, growing under the trees.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Palmetto State Park’s centennial wish.

Palmetto State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

Palmetto State Park would like to celebrate the centennial with two frequently requested items that will enhance visitor experiences. First, park staff will install water bottle filling stations in strategic locations near trails to keep visitors hydrated and promote sustainability.

Additionally, park staff would like to help visitors get closer to the action through the purchase of specialized optics. A new telescope will be used to expand night sky viewing opportunities and a spotting scope will allow birders to get a better view of the many avian species that call Palmetto home.

With your support, we can enhance the visitor experience at Palmetto State Park.

Fundraising goal: $14,000

Give Back to Palmetto State Park
