Old Tunnel State Park

Bat viewing is OId Tunnel’s claim to fame, and visitors are drawn to the remarkable wildlife spectacle during bat season. Park goers also enjoy year-round hiking, bird-watching, and general wildlife viewing on the half-mile nature trail.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Old Tunnel State Park’s centennial wish.

Old Tunnel State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Make the Night Sky Come Alive

Old Tunnel State Park hosts more than just bats—it’s also a prime spot for stargazing!

Located more than ten miles away from the nearest town, visitors can enjoy an amazing view of stars, planets, clusters, nebulae, and more.

Specialized equipment used by amateur astronomers helps to connect people to these wonders of the night sky, and with your assistance, park staff will purchase a telescope and binoculars to share with visitors.

Fundraising goal: $2,000

Give Back to Old Tunnel State Park
