Visitors travel great lengths to see and experience the sand dunes of Monahans Sandhills State Park. Nowhere else in Texas will you find a Texas-sized sandbox for kids of all ages, offering a bucket-list opportunity to conquer the park’s windswept peaks and valleys by foot, horseback, or—a park favorite—sand disk!

Quenching Your Thirst in an Ocean of Sand
Monahans Sandhills is a unique experience with its Texas-sized sandbox in the desert. Traipsing across the park is thirsty business, and unfortunately, there are currently no water stations in the park’s day-use area.
To help visitors prepare for a day of fun in the desert sand, park staff would like to install two pet-friendly, bottle filling/water fountain stations in the day-use area. These fountains will help keep visitors and their pets safe and hydrated and will enhance the overall park experience in a harsh desert environment. The stations will also encourage the use of reusable water bottles.
Fundraising goal: $15,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Monahans Sandhills State Park for future funding needs.
