Martin Dies, Jr. State Park

Deep in the Pineywoods, two rivers meet on the eastern edge of Texas, creating wild and diverse habitats. Park goers come to explore the lake, sloughs and forest trails of this very special place at the edge of the Big Thicket.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Martin Dies, Jr. State Park’s centennial wish.

Martin Dies, Jr. State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Access for All

Texas State Parks staff are always looking for ways to make our parks more accessible for all.

Martin Dies park staff would like to build three new ADA-accessible picnic shade shelters on the Hen House Ridge unit at the waterfront day-use area.

This is a favorite spot for park visitors and would allow access for many more people to enjoy outdoor experiences, a fitting way to celebrate the Texas State Parks Centennial.

With your help, Martin Dies State Park will extend a warm welcome to all users for many years to come.

Fundraising goal: $15,000

Give Back to Martin Dies, Jr. State Park
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Martin Dies, Jr. State Park for future funding needs.
