Longhorn Cavern State Park
Many stories and legends surround Longhorn Cavern, but geology is what makes it truly unique. Underground streams formed this beautiful cave ages ago. Most visitors enjoy the traditional guided tour, while adventurers often opt for the “wild” cave tour. You can extend the fun by hiking the trails or packing the perfect picnic.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Longhorn Cavern State Park’s centennial wish.
Longhorn Cavern State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Water Station for Thirsty Visitors
Longhorn Cavern State Park is home to one of the most unique caves in Texas, carved by a flowing underground river. Visitors here get to explore below ground and can also hike trails and visit CCC buildings above ground.
To better serve park visitors, staff would like to install an accessible water bottle filling station. With your help, this water fountain will allow visitors to fill their own water bottles for their park visit, promoting sustainability and cutting down on park litter from single-use bottles.
Fundraising goal: $13,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Longhorn Cavern State Park for future funding needs.
