Lake Tawakoni State Park
Families in search of tall trees, breathtaking nature, and fun on the water often come to this 376-acre park that sits on the 36,700-acre Lake Tawakoni. Adventure entices city slickers and lake lovers to gather their fishing poles, binoculars, hiking shoes and camping gear and head for the lake, just 50 miles east of Dallas.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Lake Tawakoni State Park’s centennial wish.
Lake Tawakoni State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Taking Aim at Some Park Extras
Families are drawn to Lake Tawakoni State Park for quality time with nature and with each other. One way the park brings visitors together is through hands-on park programming. Park staff would like to enhance this programming by purchasing new equipment, including:
- Archery equipment to offer this popular activity to park visitors.
- Wildlife learning tools, including animal skulls and pelts, and art supplies.
- A telescope to explore the wondrous night sky.
With your support, park visitors will be introduced to inspiring activities with lifelong learning potential.
Fundraising goal: $5,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Lake Tawakoni State Park for future funding needs.
