Goose Island State Park

Lapping water and Gulf breezes punctuate life by the bay. Goose Island draws countless visitors to its shores with camping, fishing and birding opportunities along St. Charles and Aransas bays.  You can also hike, geocache, go boating, and snap photos of coastal wildlife, especially birds.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Goose Island State Park’s centennial wish.

Goose Island State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

There’s no shortage of activities at Goose Island, and park staff seeks to enhance visitor experiences even more with additional equipment and supplies.

These items include:

  • Specialty loaner day packs equipped with field guides, journals, binoculars, telescopes and related items for visitors to better enjoy birding, night sky viewing and coastal habitats.
  • Kayaks, paddles and safety equipment to supplement and replace existing gear.
  • New GPS units to enhance and expand the park’s geocaching opportunities.
  • Two mountain bikes to create new opportunities to tour the park by bike.
  • Supplies to create a “Spanish Explorers trunk” to help visitors understand how early explorers experienced the Lamar Peninsula.

With your support, these new equipment and supply purchases will improve the visitor experience at Goose Island State Park for years to come.

Fundraising goal: $29,000

Give Back to Goose Island State Park
