Garner State Park

On the cool, clear Frio River, families have enjoyed swimming, dancing and hiking for generations. Fun traditions and beautiful scenery bring people back to Garner State Park time after time. Besides easy access to the Frio, the park offers many miles of hiking trails and camping options.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Garner State Park’s centennial wish.

Garner State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

Families are drawn to Garner State Park for quality time with nature and with each other.

One way visitors connect is through hands-on programming offered by park staff, and in celebration of the Centennial of Texas State Parks, the park wants to up its game.

Archery programs have proven successful at other parks, and staff would like to purchase equipment to offer archery programs here, too.

Enhancing birding opportunities for visitors is also on the park’s wish list, and new binoculars will be used in beginning birding programs.

Finally, helping those with color blindness see and appreciate fall color would be facilitated by installing scenic viewing scopes with color-correcting lenses, which would seamlessly serve both visitors with and without visual impairments.

With your support, the visitor experience at Garner will be enriched.

Fundraising goal: $12,000
