Franklin Mountains State Park
Texas’ largest state park in an urban setting, Franklin Mountains State Park is a favorite among El Paso locals and visitors alike. Encompassing 26,000 acres within El Paso’s city limits, this urban mountain park offers 40 square miles of Chihuahuan Desert wilderness and over 100 miles of multiuse trails at the westernmost tip of Texas.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Franklin Mountains State Park’s centennial wish.
Franklin Mountains State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Bike Maintenance Stations for Cyclists
Many visitors to Franklin Mountains State Park are cyclists who come to explore the park’s almost 27,000 acres via roads or over 100 miles of trails. It can be rough going, however, and many cyclists find themselves putting their bike repair skills to use.
Park staff would like to provide four public bike repair stations at strategic locations throughout the park to help cyclists perform quick repairs to their bikes.
With your assistance, cyclists and mountain bikers at Franklin Mountains State Park will be able to explore the park and have access to repair tools when and where they need them most.
Fundraising goal: $10,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Franklin Mountains State Park for future funding needs.
