Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Area

There are millions of reasons to love this park, including the three million bats that emerge in a swirling mass from Texas’ largest single-chambered cavern in search of food on warm summer nights. While bats bring the crowds, lots of wildlife call this area home, providing birding and wildlife viewing opportunities year-round.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Area’s centennial wish.

Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Area’s Centennial Wish:

Portable Blinds for Wildlife Viewing

Bats are just one attraction at Devil’s Sinkhole. Lots of wildlife thrives here, from white-tailed deer to the endangered black-capped vireo. Portable blinds would provide visitors with an even better opportunity to get close to wildlife.

With your support, park staff will purchase four portable blind units to provide cover for wildlife viewing and potential public hunting opportunities, too. The blinds would come equipped with chairs and storage containers to secure and maintain the equipment when not in use.

Fundraising goal: $20,000

Give Back to Devil's Sinkhole State Natural Area
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Area for future funding needs.
