A bucket-list destination for daring Texas adventurers, Devils River State Natural Area offers a unique wilderness experience, both on the river and on land. Home to one of the most pristine and wild rivers in the state—it’s not easy to get here, but it’s worth the effort.

Make the Night Sky Come Alive
The night skies over Devils River State Natural Area are a wonder to behold. That’s why the park is designated as one of only fifteen International Dark Sky Sanctuaries in the world.
Park staff would like to capitalize on the park’s unique location by adding a portable dark sky observatory, educational materials and related equipment to enhance the stargazing experience in the natural area. These items will be utilized on a self-guided basis and also during organized Star Parties.
With your help, this project will allow park visitors to better enjoy and appreciate the incredible inky black skies over Devils River State Natural area.
Fundraising goal: $20,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Devils River State Natural Area for future funding needs.
