Cooper Lake State Park – South Sulphur

Park visitors enjoy picnicking under the towering oak trees, swimming at the sandy beach, and watching for bald eagles, white pelicans, turkey, waterfowl, white-tailed deer, raccoons and beavers. With over 3,026 acres and 31 miles of shoreline to explore, Cooper Lake offers tons of amenities for park visitors to enjoy.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Cooper Lake State Park’s centennial wish for the park’s South Sulphur area.

Cooper Lake State Park – South Sulphur’s Centennial Wish:

Made in the Shade!

Cooper Lake State Park is a place where families camp, hike, and play together. The park’s playground is in a day-use area and is very popular with families. But it’s not shaded, so on a hot Texas day, the experience can be less than fun.

With your assistance, park staff will add a 24’ x 24’ shade cover with a powder-coated metal frame and an all-weather canvas fabric top to the playground.

This will provide much-needed shade and make the playground more enjoyable in all seasons.

Fundraising goal: $10,000
