Choke Canyon State Park
Visitors enjoy watching the sun rise and set over the lake while birds sing in the brush at this South Texas retreat, where anglers spend the day casting for their next big fish story. Located on Choke Canyon Reservoir’s shore, the park offers first-class fishing and birding, as well as swimming, camping and hiking.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Choke Canyon State Park’s centennial wish.
Choke Canyon State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Aiming for Better Archery and Kayaking Opportunities
Providing quality outdoor opportunities on land and water is a key focus for park staff at Choke Canyon State Park. With your support, park staff will enhance existing archery opportunities and add kayaking equipment to provide a new way for park visitors to enjoy the water.
The archery program, a favorite among visitors for years, will receive new bows, arrows and related supplies to complement the park’s new archery range.
To expand opportunities on the water, park staff will add kayaking to its list of regular activities. Funds raised will provide new kayaks, paddles, and related safety equipment for park visitors to enjoy for years to come.
Fundraising goal: $17,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Choke Canyon State Park for future funding needs.
