Caddo Lake State Park
Visitors come to marvel at the age-old bald cypress trees draped with Spanish moss that tower over the maze of bayous, sloughs and ponds of Caddo Lake. Explorers also love to paddle these waterways in search of age-old alligators or try their luck fishing before settling into one of the park’s historic pine-log cabins.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for exciting projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Caddo Lake State Park’s centennial wish.
Caddo Lake State Park’s Centennial Wish:
Access for All
The Caddo Forest Trail winds through both upland pine forest and bottomland hardwoods, providing hikers and park visitors a nature experience like no other.
For visitors with vision impairments, a big focus of that experience is the auditory experience.
With your support, Caddo Lake State Park will create a quarter-mile Braille Trail along the short loop of the trail.
Braille signage interpreting the auditory features of the trail, such as bird and animal sounds, has already been developed. New funding for distinguishing trail surface material that will guide vision-impaired visitors is needed to fully implement the experience.
Fundraising goal: $25,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Caddo Lake State Park for future funding needs.
