Big Spring State Park

The 200-foot bluff jetting up from the surrounding rolling plains is a sight to behold at Big Spring State Park, topped only by the expansive view from atop this stunning natural landmark. Park goers love to hike and bike the popular trails, explore 382 acres of arid plains terrain, and discover the age-old rock etchings of visitors from a bygone era.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Big Spring State Parks’ centennial wish.

Big Spring State Park’s Centennial Wish:

Quench Your Thirst on the Trail

Big Spring State Park’s many trails are a popular feature for visitors. Park staff encourage the use of refillable water bottles instead of single-use plastic, but the only type of water dispensers currently available in the park are bib-style hoses, which some are reluctant to use.

Installation of four bottle filling /water fountain stations would provide visitors with an easy-to-use option and encourage the use of reusable water bottles.

With your support, we can quench the thirst of parched trail users and reduce plastic waste.

Fundraising goal: $29,000

Give Back to Big Spring State Park
