Big Bend Ranch State Park
Texas’ biggest state park is a favorite of nature lovers and adventurers. With 300,000+ acres of rugged mountains, steep canyons, amazing views, and unparalleled night skies from this designated International Dark Sky Park, there are a million reasons to love Big Bend Ranch State Park, both day and night.
Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Big Bend Ranch State Park’s centennial wish.
Big Bend Ranch State Park’s Centennial Wish:
UTV to the Rescue
This is a very remote and rugged area of Texas; there are 26 miles of dirt roads to park headquarters with another 90 miles to the nearest hospital. Due to the expansive nature of Big Bend Ranch, park rangers are called upon to perform rescue missions as needed.
There is only one rescue Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) currently available in the park, limiting the ability of park staff to respond to emergencies in this expansive and remote area.
With your help, a designated rescue UTV for the interior district of the park will be purchased. The new UTV will be outfitted to transfer injured individuals and will include accessories and rescue equipment.
Fundraising goal: $40,000
Once the initial priority project has been funded, any dollars raised beyond the needs of the park’s priority project will remain with Big Bend Ranch State Park for future funding needs.
