Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park

Park goers flock to this birder’s paradise to catch a glimpse of the 360 species of birds that have been sighted here, along with butterflies, javelinas, bobcats and more. Nature is the main attraction here, and visitors love the nature trails, wildlife viewing blinds, bird-feeding stations, tram tours and park programming.

Throughout 2023, we are raising money for much-needed projects at all Texas State Parks. Give back today and help us grant Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park’s centennial wish.

Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley Park’s Centennial Wish:

Aiming for Archery Opportunities

Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park sees a lot of local visitors from neighboring communities. Park staff regularly provide these visitors with outdoor skills training, including Dutch oven cooking, angler certification, camping skills, campfire safety, orienteering, stargazing, and kayaking.

To celebrate the centennial of state parks in Texas, park staff would like to add an archery option to their offerings. With your help, an archery range will be constructed, and bows, arrows, and related equipment will be purchased to create this new program.

Fundraising goal: $10,000

Give Back to Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park
